Council Member Rabbi Shari Dollinger, Co-Executive Director of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), shares a special message for Easter as Christians around the world mark the holiday with family, tradition, and community.
A few days ago, in the midst of war, Jews around the world gathered with family and friends to retell our story of becoming a free people, of crossing from darkness into light, from slavery into freedom.
On Easter Sunday, our Christian friends around the world will gather to share the story of their savior’s resurrection, of crossing from darkness into light.
We don’t have to share a theology to share a longing for light after darkness, for the world to be made whole again. The desire for renewal, for morning to come after the longest night, is deeply human.
At a time when our holidays align, it feels especially urgent to acknowledge each other’s sacred traditions and meaningful moments. This is how we make the world a bit brighter, one person, one relationship, one connection at a time.
To our Christian friends celebrating Easter, I wish you a meaningful and blessed holiday.
To all of us, during this sacred season, may we join our voices in the words of the Psalmist: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May those who love you be at peace.” (Psalm 122:6)
