As we closed out 2024, the Voice of the People (VoP) team made significant strides in preparing for the impactful year ahead. From council preparation to finalizing conference logistics, here’s a look at the milestones we achieved in December as we gear up for the next chapter of our journey.
Throughout December, we focused on equipping our facilitators and fellows for their critical roles in guiding the council’s two-year process. Training sessions were held to prepare them for the March conference and beyond, providing both theoretical knowledge and hands-on guidance to ensure they’re ready to support their groups effectively.
We also began working closely with content advisors—leading experts in the fields each council group will explore. These advisors will play a pivotal role in guiding the council’s work, providing insight and mentorship throughout the process to help members explore complex challenges with depth and clarity to create actionable and tangible solutions.
In parallel, we made significant progress in developing a unique VoP digital platform designed to foster collaboration, networking, and community-building among council members. This tool, set to launch soon, will enable members to stay connected between sessions, share insights, and continue conversations long after the conference.
December also marked the finalization of our council member selection. Using the results of our carefully designed algorithm, we completed the selection process and began placing council members into 10 diverse working groups, each designed to bring together a powerful mix of backgrounds, perspectives, and expertise.
Planning for the March conference kicked off and took center stage in December. The inaugural event, which will gather all council members, facilitators, fellows, and content advisors for the first time in person, is being meticulously planned to offer a dynamic mix of workshops, collaborative sessions, and inspiring speakers.
Key logistics are being finalized, including securing a hotel for the conference and booking flights for most of the council members. We also began designing a pre-conference seminar for the facilitators and fellows, providing them with a deeper foundation to support the council’s work during and beyond the conference.
December also saw the VoP team actively engaging with the global Jewish community. Our participation at Limmud UK allowed us to strengthen international connections, share our vision, and continue expanding the network of voices contributing to the initiative. It was also a great learning experience for our own conference in March.
As we enter 2025, we remain committed to building a platform where diverse voices can come together to address the most pressing challenges facing the global Jewish community. With the March conference on the horizon, we are confident that the foundation built in 2024 will propel us toward a year of growth, collaboration, and meaningful impact.
