Voices of the team - Rachel Bar Din

When Rachel Bar Din joined Voice of the People in July 2023, the organization wasn’t fully built yet. “It was just words on paper and a dream in people’s minds,” she says. “That’s why I like to say—I make dreams come true.”

In this edition of Voices of the Team, we sat down with Rachel to talk about building VOP from the ground up, navigating growth through self-development, and what it means to find purpose in your work.

Rachel’s path into marketing operations didn’t start in a traditional way. She graduated from The Open University in Israel with a degree in Business Management and Communication while doing reserve duty during the war and working full time. “That’s still one of the biggest accomplishments of my life.”

Her love of structure and systems is balanced by a passion for self-development. She’s an avid reader, a wellness enthusiast, and someone who believes in slowing down to ask the big questions: Is this where I want to be? Are these the people I want to grow with? What kind of life do I want to live? One of her favorite books? How to Love Yourself Like Your Life Depends on It.

As Marketing Operations Manager at VOP, Rachel works across all departments to connect the dots between people, process, and purpose. “Marketing touches everything,” she explains. “My job is integrating everyone into our brand, who we are to council members, to the outside world, to ourselves. It’s our DNA.”

Her day-to-day might include anything from managing timelines and deliverables to working with designers, PR agencies, or preparing steering committee meetings. But her role is more than logistics, it’s about creating cohesion. “Every department’s work is connected. I help shape how we bring it all together and communicate it in a way that feels true to who we are.”

One of Rachel’s most memorable projects was the five-day VOP conference in Haifa, Israel. “We started with just the dates. No plan. No format. We had to ask: What should this feel like? What do we want people to take away?” From visual branding to the structure of the sessions, Rachel helped steer the experience from strategy to execution. Even when certain ideas didn’t land as expected, she saw those moments as part of a bigger learning process. “In marketing, and in startups, not everything works. But every ‘no’ gets you closer to the right ‘yes.’ That’s something I’ve learned in life, too.”

That mindset shows up in her personal growth as well. “A year ago, I was scared to ask for help. I thought, If they hired me, I have to be amazing. I have to prove they didn’t make a mistake. But now? I know I’m good. I know my team is good. I don’t feel the need to prove anything.”

She brings that same grounded energy into every collaboration. “You have to find the right language with every person. Once there’s personal connection, the work becomes easier. You don’t have to agree on everything but you have to let people speak. And if people feel you’re committed, they’ll work alongside you.”

Rachel sees that same energy reflected in the council. “There’s something about being around people who care that makes you care more. The council is like that. They fuel each other. They believe in change. You surround yourself with people who push you and you push them. That’s how real change happens.”

She compares it to waves gathering force: “One small movement can become a tsunami.”

Her personal goals include running a half marathon one day. But in the meantime, she’s focused on showing up with presence and intention. “I used to think work was just something you do to make a living. But this, this is different. This integrates with the life I want to live. I love what I do. I love the women I work with. I really enjoy it.”

As Voice of the People continues to grow, Rachel’s grounded optimism is a powerful reminder that meaningful change, like strong marketing operations, starts with clarity, connection, and care.
