This week, as we read Parsha Korach, I reflect on a personal milestone: 23 years ago, my husband and I got engaged just before this parsha. While Korach’s story isn’t particularly uplifting, featuring rebellion against Moshe and the earth swallowing him whole, it offers a powerful lesson about our roles in this world.
Korach’s downfall reminds us that each of us has a unique purpose, and it’s essential to embrace that role wholeheartedly. When we attempt to take on someone else’s job or stray from our own path, we may face rejection and miss out on HaShem’s blessings.
How fortunate we are to belong to a special community that understands its identity and mission, both individually and collectively. Each of us contributes to the tapestry of our people, and our shared commitment strengthens our bonds.
As we celebrate Shabbat, let’s celebrate our unique roles and strive for success in all we do, both personally and with VOP.
May we continue to uplift one another and work towards a harmonious future, inspired by the lessons of our past.
